As Amsterdam grows, so does the demand for water. To save drinking water for residents, the city wants to supply treated wastewater (effluent) to industrial users in the harbor.

Key facts

The project focuses on “Hygienic Quality,” using advanced sensors to track pharmaceuticals, PFAS, and bacteria (like Legionella) to ensure the recycled water is safe for industrial use.
