QleanUP at a glance

The QleanUP project was recently featured at the workshop “Shaping the Water Cycle in the Modern Urban Environment”, organised and hosted by EYDAP in Greece. The event brought attention to innovative solutions addressing urban water quantity, quality and reuse, highlighting the growing role of digital technologies in modern water management.

During the workshop, Archontia Lykou, Senior Researcher at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), presented the latest work of the Urban Water Management and Hydroinformatics Group on Digital Twins and advanced digital tools for urban water systems.

The presentation explored how Digital Twin applications can combine data, models, simulations and 2D/3D visualisation within a unified digital environment. These approaches can strengthen monitoring, analysis and decision support, helping water utilities and water management organisations better understand and manage complex urban water systems.

Spotlight on QleanUP and the Hadrian Aqueduct

Particular attention was dedicated to the QleanUP project and the application of Digital Twin approaches to the Hadrian Aqueduct.

The presentation highlighted the potential of integrated digital technologies to support more informed water management decisions and contribute to sustainable urban water practices.

By connecting research, technological innovation and practical applications, QleanUP contributes to advancing digital approaches that can help cities respond to evolving water management challenges.

The workshop provided an opportunity to share this work with water sector professionals and stakeholders, strengthening the exchange of knowledge on innovative solutions for urban water management.
